An ethic of living

Why do we work so hard for possessions when we can't take anything with us to the grave?

Why aren't we satisfied with daily provisions of food, water, shelter and love?

And how does all of this play into our desire as men to succeed, to make our mark on the world. How do we harness that passion inside of us and still live simply?

Something I keep wrestling with. I feel such a pull to make the biggest, longest flare of light in this dark world that our Father will let me make, but staying un-captivated by the world's gravity is so hard sometimes. It's like it infects everything- romance, friendships, work, play, hopes, ambitions, and even fears. When, the literal interpretation of the scripture that says we are called to be "new creations" is in fact "new creatures/beings." I've tasted how dynamically different our lives can be when we let the Spirit take control and dictate our steps. It's never boring, always a little unnerving in a good way.

We should chat about it sometime brother...
