"God is the same God as yesterday today and tomarrow"
Yet, I struggle with this idea so much, seeing God in the Old and New Testaments to be the same.
With one, Sin seems to have much more devestating results, in the other, sin is described by some people to "not offend God" or even, "not seperate us from God."
Ot: Quick tempered and not afraid to use violence when necessary to obtain land for His 'chosen people.' Sin seems to have immediate and sometimes deadly results.
- Go and take Jericho.
- You sinned... well then, we're going to take you outside, set you and your familly on fire and throw stones at you till you die.
Nt: Grace abounds and sin seems to play a less retributive role in our lives.
I would really benefit from all of your thoughts on this idea.

Trent, I feel like any rundown theological answer I could give would sound like cold theology. Essentially, I feel like I would sound insensitive and arrogant if I tried to give a clean cut answer. I can say that Christ changed things immensely. From what I've read the world was never the same again. I think we as people changed( or were given the means to change through the Holy Spirit) and enormous grace entered into the picture like never before. I know it may not answer your question completely but I hope it at least opens the discussion.
yeah this helps some. I trust in God, but when God appears to be angry first, or violent, thats where my unfaith usually starts. You hear stuff like "God isn't offended by our sin." I'm not sure a book like Ragamuffin Gospel could have been written before Jesus. Christ is definetly significant and changed the World for sure. ... I could never be jewish.
